Free Ceramics Workshop 16/07/2026 1:30pm-4:30pm

This welcoming and creative ceramic plaque workshop offers a relaxed space for adults to explore working with clay while connecting with others in their community. Guided by an experienced facilitator, participants will design and create their own decorative ceramic plaque, learning how to shape, texture and decorate clay to produce a unique piece of their own. No previous experience is needed, and all materials are provided.

Funded through Sunderland City Council’s Coalfields Area Committee, the project has been developed to support mental health and wellbeing by creating opportunities for people to slow down, focus on a mindful activity and express themselves creatively. The sessions are designed to gently reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation, encouraging conversation, shared learning and the building of new friendships over time.
